WORLD RELIGIONS CONFERENCE (Sunday, October 17, 2021)

Theme: “Combating Racism”

World Religions Conference (WRC) is Canada’s largest and longest running Multi-Faith Event. This year marks the 40th edition of the Conference, the theme for 2021 is “Combating Racism”.

If you are a Faith Leader, Thought Leader, Expert on Racism or a Passionate Advocate of racial equality we would love to have you at the conference and hear from you.

WRC Partner Organizations and all faith or philosophical groups are invited to submit their nominations for a suitable speaker from their respective faith or philosophical traditions. The speakers should be knowledgeable in their religious or philosophical perspective on this year’s theme and renowned in their respective organizations and the community at large. Each nomination should contain details on the proposed speaker including a brief biography, affiliation, and current involvement in the community and a recent high resolution digital photograph. Please visit to submit a nomination.

Each year faith leaders from diverse faiths and schools of thought like Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Sikhism, Humanism, Indigenous, Buddhism etc. get together and present how their faith and beliefs can guide humanity to solve an everyday problem.

WRC aims to project the beautiful and peaceful teachings of all faiths and thought groups. By working together to solve a real life problem we show that different faith groups can work together and faith is not only relevant but critical in helping humanity move forward.

Due to the uncertain situation because of COVID19 we are planning to hold this year’s conference virtually and in-person (if permitted as per the healthcare guidelines prevailing at the time).

The tentative conference schedule will run from 1:00pm to 5:00pm and will consist of the following agenda:

  • Welcome and Introduction to this year's theme
  • All faith speakers’ introductory remarks (3 mins each) and greetings from any dignitaries.
  • Theme presentations by speakers (15 mins each) can include recitations from their Holy Scriptures. Typically, eight groups are represented.
  • An interactive QA session to allow the audience to engage with the speakers (45 mins total).
