“Building Peace” through Interfaith Respect : Campaign
Condemning mindless Anti-Islamic film and mindless Reaction of Extremist Muslims
Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario – Sept 23, 2012:
As the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community finalizes its plans and logistics to host the 32nd World Religions Conference scheduled for October 13, 2012 – the timing of the conference is relevant as extremist Muslims around the world flinch on a mind-numbing destruction of lives and property reacting to a blasphemous anti-prophet movie. That’s religious hatred on both ends – equally barbaric on both ends.
To curtail the negative sentiments - the local Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will be campaigning door to door on Sunday, September 23, promoting peace and interfaith respect and promoting the upcoming World Religions Conference in the region of Waterloo.
Men, women, young children and seniors of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, all will be knocking doors and participating in this campaign in the eastern region of Kitchener.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community strongly believes in building peace. This building can be constructed by removing in-tolerances, malice, hate and promoting love and respect for each other’s faiths. The community is therefore well known in the region for bringing together followers of different religions and removing malice and hatred amongst faith communities. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community with the partnership of over 23 organizations, including the City of Waterloo and Cambridge, University of Waterloo’s federation of Students, the Waterloo Record, 570 news, CTV and with the cooperation of dozen’s faith organizations, holds the annual World Religions Conference that continues to serve as a model of religious tolerance. This year’s event is expected to draw several hundred.
The Kitchener-Waterloo branch of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will be meeting at a King Street Community Centre located at 3289 King Street East in Kitchener at 1:30 pm on September 23, 2012 to launch this “Building Peace” campaign and promoting the World Religions Conference.
On the same day – September 23, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community as a publisher – will also be participating with a tent at the Annual “Word on the Street” festival in downtown Kitchener giving out copies of the Holy Quran and other Islamic books and promoting peace and understanding for all faiths.
